"I just have to let you all know again how glad I am that I came into your store! My friends and I were in your store today and I happened to pick a vintage dress that was designed by my great-aunt, Irene Sargent. I truly appreciate everything, and I will definitely be back for the wonderful atmosphere at your store."
- Morgan Alameda-CherryHow Consignment Works:
We Sell It For You! French Cuff Consignment is a retail outlet that offers the consignor (seller) a well-displayed showroom and maximum exposure for selling high quality, pre-owned and gently used clothing, accessories and jewelry. Items are placed in our store for a period of 90 days. Consigning eliminates the cost of classified advertising, strangers in the home, and assures the highest price for your items.
How Is The Item Priced?
We will price the items to sell with resale pricing that is fair to both buyer and seller. Our goal is to sell your quality items for maximum profit quickly. We offer a 60-40 split to our consignors. Checks are available for pickup in the store after the 10th. Items can be reduced for discount sales such as Second Saturday Sales, Parking Lot Sales, etc. at any time.
Consignment Guidelines:
- New consignment is accepted Monday through Friday 12pm-5pm.
- Please call for an appointment: (916) 442-3724; NO CONSIGNMENT APPOINTMENTS ON WEEKENDS.
- First time consignors should plan to spend at least 30 minutes for their 1st appointment.
- Bring in brand name, boutique and designer items.
- Current style items (less than 2 years old, except vintage) sell the best.
- Excessive signs of wear will not be accepted.
- Clothing is accepted by the season. If you are not sure what season we are accepting, please feel free to call us at (916) 442-3724.
"Why didn't they take all my items?"
Please understand that in order to accept an item in our store, we must be confident that we can sell it ("wearable" and "sellable" are very different). It is our goal and job to make money for you! Based on experience and training in the fashion industry we know what will and will not sell. We may agree that the dress you brought in is stunning or the business suit is fabulous, but not consign it because we know it won’t sell. The world of fashion is a seasonable one. While we may not be able to accept a strapless dress in the winter, we may be looking forward to accepting such an item during the spring or summer. Sometimes we find ourselves overstocked with certain items and therefore be extremely careful about what items we accept into our store. At other times, we may find ourselves with plenty of room and eager to accept a wider variety of items.
